Airspace Link Portal Map Widget

Problem

While working on the Traffic and encroachments feature we detected the need for the user to be able to see traffic data while at the same time being able to see the map. This became a problem when it came to designing for mobile users. Since in desktop a panel had previously been designed, on mobile the panel would completely take over the whole screen not allowing the user to see the data on the map. This had been a pain point that had presented itself on multiple features.

What can be designed for our users to be able to see real-time data while at the same time seeing it on the map? 

Challenges

1. Make it fast and easy to use for everyone everywhere
2. Make it scalable so different future features could utilize it in different parts of the AirHub Portal App

My Role

Led the design of the global component while collaborating alongside product managers and engineers to ensure the feasibility and scalability of the component.

Solution

Develop a responsive and interactive global component that integrates seamlessly into AirHub Portal Desktop and Mobile designs allowing its use for different product features within the app.
